Genoa??
Yes, and it was amazing!
Not only is it minutes from the Kingsbury Grade (and 18 Minutes from a Heavenly Ski Tahoe lift), but 1862 David Walley’s includes several really great hot springs right on the property.
This is not your mountain-side resort full of people that’s always busy. 1862 is historic, low key, and is actually a great way to unwind after a day on the slopes.
The grounds at 1862 include something for everyone. Soaking pools & hot tubs, a heated family pool (where we spent most of our time), a sauna and spa, a saloon & restaurant, and even a playground. Some of the buildings even have common areas where older children can enjoy hanging out with new friends.
Room options also cover the complete range. Everything from basic Queen Rooms up to 1,000 square foot two bedroom suite. 1862 also trades well with several time-share systems (we use Interval International), so you may be able to trade your existing week for an ultra low-cost vacation.
1862 David Walley’s is a historic property, located in a historic area. Genoa is the oldest settlement in Nevada, and features a well preserved Mormon Settlement dating back to 1855. The resort resides on the original Walley’s Hot Tub property, which includes a natural 140 degree hot spring. The original tub was constructed in, you guessed it, 1862. It was also home to one of the famed Pony Express stations.
If you need a getaway that’s close to Reno, Nevada, Carson City, and Heavenly / Lake Tahoe, take a close look at 1862 David Walley’s. You’re certain to find something for the entire family.
